You’re a marketing professional or product manager working for a software vendor in the IT/DevOps/Cloud space. You know you work for a great company and have great products, but you can’t figure out how to produce compelling content to show that.
Whether it’s for lead generation or building excellent product documentation, producing quality content is hard. You may understand the product and the technology, but you don’t have the same mindset as the audience. It’s hard to bridge that gap.
Let me help with that.
Hi, I’m Adam Bertram. I’m an IT influencer, prominent tech community evangelist and huge proponent of providing value without remorse. I’m here to help you bridge that company/consumer divide on-time, under budget and with happy clients.
Through some different mediums, I can help produce independent, entertaining, educational and valuable content that your audience will actually want to consume rather than feeling forced to. Since content can take many forms, I can help you apply this content strategically across a couple of different channels.
Content Marketing/Lead Generation
Generating leads can be a big undertaking especially if you don’t know how to provide insightful content to spark interest in your products. No one is interested in being sold to, but if you can afford content that gives them immediate value, now we’re talking!
I offer a unique, laid-back style of content production that comes from my nearly 20 years of experience as an IT professional, developer and overall disrupter of the status quo.
“But I don’t know the best approach!”
There are times especially for new startups or marketing professionals that have just stepped into the role don’t know where to start. Common questions are:
- Should I do a webinar?
- How much should I pay influencers?
- Are sponsored blog posts a good idea?
- What kind of content do IT professionals want?
- What about promoting with Linkedin?
Since I’ve had many successful clients over the years engaged with your target market, I’ve been able to notice trends in influencer marketing techniques that I can recommend. I can advise you on marketing trends, what’s useful vs. not and steer you away from being too product-focused rather on value-focused.
“I know what we need to do but just need the content!”
You’ve been around the block more times than you want to remember and know where to go but just need someone to get you there. I understand. Let’s do this!
Once we come up with an editorial roadmap, it’s time to get down to business and figure out what’s the best kind of content to produce. Lucky for you, I’m well-versed in many different types of content production.
I love writing, and it shows by the hundreds of blog posts, published articles, print magazine columns, and books. Below are just a few places that I’ve written for. It’s important to notice that not all of my written content was for vendors. I believe this is important because it keeps my independent status. I never have and will never “sell” a product for anyone. Your audience will appreciate that.
- The Pester Book
- Automate the Boring Stuff with PowerShell (coming May 2018)
I produce a lot of written content, but that’s not all I do, by far. I believe video has a lot of power in engaging an audience. People would rather see a demonstration of a technique rather than reading about it. As such, I’ve produced a lot of video content.
- Screen-Share Training Courses – Pluralsight
- Screen-Share Training Courses – Udemy
- How-To Videos – YouTube Channel
- Live Training – Testing PowerShell with Pester (Microsoft Virtual Academy)
- Live Show- Coding 101 (TechTV)
- Webinar – Going Beyond PowerShell with GoverLAN Reach (GoverLAN)
- Webinar – Automating Repetitive IT Tasks (IpSwitch)
Social media is an excellent way to reach your audience. Twitter and LinkedIn are probably the most popular among IT professionals and developers. I’ve been on these platforms for nearly ten years and have a large a large following on both.
All content that I produce for you will be shared via social media amplifying its reach other than merely announcing it on your website or via this blog.
I’ve also been known to get interviewed on various podcasts. If you have a podcast or would like me to appear on one, I’d love to join as often as you’d want to talk about IT, DevOps and/or automation. I enjoy participating in podcasts and would love to be a part of that.

Ways to Engage
Does all of this sound appealing? I hope so! If so, let’s talk about how we can work together!
Content marketing needs never stop. Consumers are always looking for fresh content to help them in their day-to-day lives. This is why I offer a retainer. A retainer is merely a way to employ me on a contract basis over an extended period covering all of the types of work mentioned above.
You will get not only all of the work described above for a low monthly or quarterly fee but also a free blog sponsor ad, two sponsored posts per month, continuous Twitter and LinkedIn promotion of new, upcoming content and more.
As a new retainer partner, we will first discuss potential projects of your choosing as a plan to be executed throughout the retainer period. Once a rough plan has been hashed out, we will have regular meetings with you and your team to ensure constant communication and deliverables are clear and proactively plan all deliverables.
A retainer is a service that offers multiple benefits:
- Reduces accounting burden by reducing invoicing.
- Eliminates per-project negotiations
- Produces predictable monthly work output.
- Allows for expected expenses for easy budgeting.
As a retainer partner, you are my #1 priority. You will take precedence over any other projects if a conflict ever happens and can ensure you will have my immediate attention whenever you need it. We’re partners, and I take that seriously.

Don’t just read about how I can help you, check out what a few of my clients have said about me.
For the past couple of years, Adam Bertram has been unbelievably helpful to Ipswitch’s marketing efforts. As an IT guru, his experience with a wide variety of IT-related demands for time, budget, and headcount, Adam can outline what makes sense and what does not. His friendly accessible demeanor has bridged the gap between “marketing-speak” and the reality of a the needs of an IT department. Adam has created many blog posts, lots of podcasts, several webinars, ebooks, and other content, all of which have been lauded by the recipients.
Adam delivers on time and on budget. And, what marketing person can resist those attributes? Certainly, Ipswitch is better for having Adam Bertram on the team.
Adam creates very technical and engaging content that IT professionals find tremendous value in. He’s easy to work with, knows the IT industry better than most and understands how to help IT get their job done.Greg Mooney – IpSwitch
2 words…”Adam delivers”
It’s rare to come across a “vendor” that you can just feel confident in. I don’t have to manage the programs I run with Adam. He has the knowledge, work ethic, and most importantly the passion needed to deliver a great result. He takes the time to understand the value our company offers and gears his content to speak to that value. He leverages the network and relationships he previously built to push our message further and with greater impact. Adam delivers on more than just ROI, he makes us look good!Ezra Charm – GoverLAN
It was very EASY to work with you. We were able to define the content and then get the content we wanted on-time on-schedule.Andy Zhu – NinjaRMM
I am your link to the community. Since I’m in the trenches every day, I offer unique insights your team will never be able to get from the viewpoint of a vendor. Let’s work together! Contact me to discuss.
