The Adam the Automator blog has been around for a few years now and has always been my home base but never a huge priority for me. I’ve always tried to share knowledge freely as often as possible but haven’t spent the kind of time I wanted on it. The priority simply wasn’t there because this blog didn’t make a dime. As such, I was always focusing my attention elsewhere and, in my opinion, neglecting the blog and you. That’s changing in 2018.
As part of this new initiative to refocus my attention on this blog and my YouTube channel, I have already started a few new things.
The first is, as you’ve probably already noticed, the banners on the right side of the blog. These are trusted sponsors that want to get in front of you guys! They will always be non-obtrusive reminders to click through and check out their great products. I personally stand behind each sponsor’s products. If you have a gripe about them, please let me know. I will do whatever I can to make it right.
Related to the blog sponsors is my new goal to also partner with the best of the best vendors. I am and will continue to partner with a select few vendors that choose to put their name behind mine (What are they thinking anyway?!?).
Ready to stop reading and start learning about PowerShell, DSC, Windows Server, Sharepoint, IIS and dozens of other categories? If so, check out the hundreds of free technical demo screencasts available on the new, IT career development platform TechSnips.
These organizations and I have decided to partner up on various ongoing projects both here on this blog as well as other web properties. Projects will vary from occasional (informational!) sponsored blog posts here, on other sites, webinars, speaking engagements and more. I will also begin to announce each sponsorship as it comes up.
#CarTalks YouTube Videos and Posts
I’ve already started my popular #CarTalks YouTube video series. This is a fun series that I’ve been doing to teach, support and mentor anyone that’s willing to listen. That series will an at least once weekly, fun, unedited series where anything goes. I want more ideas so if you have a question about anything, please contact me on Twitter.
If you’re not a video kind of person, no worries. All of my #CarTalks videos are transcribed and edited to be made into blog posts as well. Be sure to follow the CarTalks tag here on the blog for all of the new content there.
What does this mean for you?
These new initiatives will ultimately bring you lots of new, free content as well as be getting introduced to some potentially new vendors and products at the same time. We all can’t script our jobs away so relying on tools is a must. Plus, if you hear about a product from here, you know I stand behind everything 100%. No more hearing about a product from the company itself.
You’ll hear about things directly from an independent, seasoned, IT professional turned developer that’s even more skeptical than you are about being sold something!
With that being said, I wish everyone a great December and upcoming 2018 and can’t wait to see what next year holds in store!
