Who’s Adam Anyway?

PowerShell MVP, Adam BertramHi, I’m Adam.  I’m an independent thinker, consultant and entrepreneur. I’m passionate about solving technical problems through automation and sharing my knowledge with the world. This passion has led me to become a Microsoft Powershell MVP, a 2015 powershell.org PowerShell hero, Pluralsight and Udemy training course author, presenter, trainer and technology writer for both print and online tech publications.

I have a style that real-world practitioners can relate with. I won’t fluff up anything and will always give it to you straight. If I promote a product, I believe in it and will always give honest answers. I would make a terrible politician.

In my previous life, I was an IT professional since 1998 mostly employed as a Microsoft system administrator although my other hats include open source fan, network engineer, IT security, VoIP engineer and web developer.

Through all the positions I’ve held I’ve always loved writing scripts to accomplish tasks.  I started off writing batch files as a child, graduated to VBscript and HTAs and even written web apps in PHP.  However, it wasn’t until 2009 that I actually fully embraced Powershell and have never looked back.

I’m not a formal guy.  I hate wearing slacks, khakis and tucked in polo shirts.  I assure you if we ever meet you’ll never see me with a sport coat on either.  I’m a believer in learning from someone that’s been there; not from a book.  I despise prewritten cookie-cutter training material that doesn’t make you think.  I challenge the status quo and make you learn through the school of hard knocks.
